Volunteer Services

Volunteer services are assistance services provided by student volunteers.

If needed, MBK students at Airlangga University are entitled to access assistance services from AIL student volunteers. AIL student volunteers are Airlangga University students who have been trained to provide assistance and support to students with special needs during their studies at Airlangga University. The recruitment and training process for student volunteers is coordinated by AIL.

Through coordination by the AIL team and related faculties/study programs/work units, student volunteers can provide assistance to MBK in the transition process, selection, pre-lecture, learning process, assessment, as well as in participating in practical activities and ELPT tests at the Language Center. Assistance will be provided according to the needs of MBK, upholding the principles of inclusiveness and independence of MBK.

The rights and obligations of students with special needs during their education at Airlangga University are:

1. Students with special needs's obligations:

a. Comply with all regulations applicable at Airlangga University.

b. Fully responsible for carrying out the role as a student of Airlangga University.

c. Independent in caring for oneself and mobility from home/residence to campus.

d. Have good intentions to cooperate and establish active communication with the AIL team, Faculty/Study Program, and volunteer assistants to support the educational process at Airlangga University.

2. Rights of Students with Special Needs:

a. Obtaining accommodations/adjustments in the educational process at Airlangga University, in accordance with the specific needs experienced and the agreement between the student and/or parent/guardian and Airlangga University (Faculty/Study Program administrators).

b. Receive assistance from support staff, if needed.

c. Receiving fair treatment.

d. Refusing to be accompanied because they already feel independent.

e. Request a replacement companion if you feel uncomfortable with the companion who has been assigned to accompany you.

f. Providing supporting facilities or assistants at their own expense, through coordination with the Faculty/Study Program administrators and AIL.
